Hello. I’m Tamara. I am 19 years old. I am 5’1” tall and weigh 206lbs (although it fluctuates from 200 - 210), and a US Size 16. I don’t watch what I eat. I eat whatever I want. Sometimes I do indulge a little too much, other times I hardly eat at all. All of my friends weigh much less than me, but that doesn’t stop me from living my life. I have my off days, just like anyone else, but all in all I am pretty content.
I see a lot of chubby girl support sites bashing girls who are thin, and this is NOT what body acceptance is about. Body accepting is about…accepting your body, ANY shape, size, weight, etc. I don’t despise skinny people, just like I don’t despise thicker people. It’s just a number on the scale. You talk about skinny people bashing you for your weight, then you go and rip them apart for being skinny? And vice-versa? That doesn’t make ANY sense whatsoever. You both have hardships, just on terms a little different.
The only time I would be concerned about another’s weight is if they are suddenly starving or engorging themselves in response to an event that caused trauma. Still, be kindhearted with your words. Words are extremely powerful, and even if the people you speak to seem to not react, it doesn’t mean they don’t feel emotion.
Love your body whether you are overweight, underweight, or average.
AMEN!
I’m Quinn, I’m 5’ 3 3/4” tall and around 225-230 pounds and I’m learning to love it!
